The Oregon Environmental Council has teamed up with Secretary of State Bill Bradbury to bring the “An Inconvenient Truth” slide show to communities around Oregon. Secretary Bradbury was one of the first 50 people to be trained by Al Gore to give his "An Inconvenient Truth" slide show. Bill has adapted the slide show to heavily focus on the effects of global warming on the Pacific Northwest.

Native Plant Center Volunteer Ventures

Volunteers will be potting up native seedlings grown from seeds collected on Metro’s natural areas. Volunteers will also be maintaining field plantings, mulching paths and helping to plant wetland propagation beds. This is a family-friendly volunteer opportunity and a great way to learn more about Metro’s native species conservation program. Come prepared to get dirty and dress for the weather. Prior gardening experience is not required. Gloves, tools, water and a snack will be provided.
